As far as we can tell, Debt Trends is run by Mr. Erik Helbing, a lawyer and debt relief expert behind Consumer Law Relief, who have an A+ rating with the BBB and have been in operation since 2016. He seems to have founded Debt Trends a year later.
Debt Trends is a legal firm that provides a plethora of services to businesses, families and individuals. These range from family law, including divorce proceedings, to business law, such as tax related issues. None of those services are relevant here though, so we’re focusing entirely on the debt relief arm of this legal firm.
The Reviews and Complaints
We work hard to provide honest and transparent reviews here on DebtReviews, but we’ll be the first to admit that review sites don’t always give you the clearest picture. We take a lot of things into account and try to approach it from several different angles, but ultimately, we can’t go through the process like a customer would.
That’s why it’s important to check user review sites in addition to sites like ours and it’s why we have a User Rating at the bottom of this page.
If you look at Debt Trends reviews on user review sites, you’ll see high praise across the board. More importantly, you’ll notice that the Debt Trends respond to all reviews and complaints quickly and professionally.
This is key, because the only thing more frustrating than a bad experience is a bad review that falls on deaf ears. You want to know that a bad review will be read, understood and dealt with, otherwise you won’t get the closure you need. With Debt Trends reviews, not only are the majority positive, but the bad ones are always dealt with quickly and in a professional manner.
How Does it Work?
The process begins with a free consultation. Phone them, explain your issues and your situation, and then listen to the debt specialist. They will tell you whether they can help you or not and will also give you a competitive price based on your situation and the size of your debt.
They'll then work on settling your debts quickly and painlessly. They do this by contacting your lenders and negotiating with them. They offer them sizeable lump sums (taken from a separate account that you add money to) in exchange for clearing the debt.
This means that your debts will be cleared and your credit rating will begin to improve. Because Debt Trends have a vast well of experience to tap into, and because their advisors are all experienced lawyers, they typically secure huge savings for their clients and your debts may be cleared for up to 80% of the initial amount.
This process takes time though and every situation is different.
Debt Trends Review
Now that we’ve got the basics out of the way, it’s time to take a closer look at this company in our Debt Trends review. See below for some of the pros and cons.
First, the good stuff. There are some huge positives here and a lot to get through. Just bear in mind that this Debt Trends review was created from our own experience and opinions and you may not have the same experiences.
- Many Great Reviews.
- Lots of Experienced Advisors.
- Huge Range of Services.
- They Work Quickly.
There aren’t many critical reviews on Debt Trends, but there is no shortage of user reviews and most of these are positive. It’s also clear from these reviews that the debt relief arm of Debt Trends is one of their most popular. The vast majority of reviews concern this specialty.
Debtors have described having vast sums of credit card debt cleared by Debt Trends and the average timeframe for these seems to be between 2 and 3 years, which is very good for debt settlement.
Debt Trends hire skilled and experienced lawyers who understand the complexities involved with debt settlement and know how to deal with all the legal aspects, while also negotiating the best deal. This is important, as you’re going to have a lot of legal questions during this process and you’ll need their expertise to advise you.
Huge Range of Services
In addition to their debt relief services, Debt Trends also provide a wealth of other legal services. These services are split across Family Law, Real Estate Law and Criminal Law—if you need a lawyer for any of these fields then you can contact the Debt Trends.
This all-encompassing nature ensures you’re in good hands whatever the issue and means you can keep going back to a friendly face every time you have an issue to be dealt with.
They Work Quickly
As discussed already, Debt Trends work very quickly and are able to clear your debt in record time. If you contact them today you could be working with them within a few days, after which they can start clearing your debts in a matter of weeks or months.
The entire process may take a couple years, but the big changes will occur periodically. It’s worth noting, however, that if you have a lot of debts with many different lenders then it can still take 4 or more years for everything to be cleared.
Now it’s time to focus on the negatives of our Debt Trends review. There isn’t a great deal to mention here, but there are a couple flaws that frustrated us during the review process.
- Lack of Information.
Lack of Information
The only major negative that we can point to is the lack of information on Debt Trends and their services. We had to work very hard to find the information we used in this Debt Trends review and it was a process that involved undertaking their free consultation and speaking with previous customers.
The Bottom Line
There are a huge number of positives to focus on. Debt Trends has a lot of good reviews and we have contacted several of these reviewers to verify their claims. We have also taken a deep dive with many other reviewers and didn’t find anything that concerned us.
As is so often the case, the bad reviews tended to focus on issues with the industry on the whole and with things that the company has no control over. Some bad reviews, for instance, commented on the fact that they were getting calls from debt collectors days after they signed up. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again—the debt relief company cannot guarantee that the debt collectors will stay away. It’s out of their power and it’s not a claim they will even make.
Putting all these non-complaints to the side, Debt Trends becomes a solid, genuine, and affordable option for debt relief.
